I used the "diesel safe" thread sealer for added insurance against leaks. Working with strict aviation standards for the past 7 1/2 years I have a habit of ensuring everything I do to my truck is as top-notch as possible. I probably didn't need it but I figured that the thread sealer was well worth a couple of bucks of added insurance against headaches down the road.

I mounted mine in-line, about 18' before the cp3 and zip-tied it to the old fuel filter mount to keep it away from the steering shaft. I used a "T" fitting with barb fittings on either side and I have an electronic fuel pressure sensor that sends the signal to the gauge. I'll try to snap a pic for ya.

Hey,

Is teflon thread sealer "diesel safe"??? Also, the kit didn't come with a connection for the wire you ran to the fuse box???? That seems funny!!

Thanks,
Winslow

I guess it depends on the type of sealer. I used Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant (http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...ad_Sealant.htm)
As far as the wiring, I believe all of the NEWER kits come with factory style plugs for a much cleaner install.

So, the cannister mod

The canister mod is needed when the fuel (lift) pump is located in the tank and you dont want to mess with a Draw Straw. 2005+ models have in-tank pumps so your '06 will need the mod or a straw.
Hope this helps ya!

2001 no in tank lift pump

Just ordered an Airdog II 100 for my 2001 (no lift pump in tank). Been reading all the posts, very educational and much appreciated. Here's my question: I had to replace the fuel level sensor and in the process tore the pickup screen. Haven't seen the new stuff yet so it's not real clear that this will be a problem. I've seen some post where some say they routinely "blow off" the pickup sock. Seems like from what I've seen on the sight, that the filters for the AirDog accomplish the screen function. Any thoughts/experience?

Thanks
