Interesting VP injection pump failure article

This is a dated article. The rotor siezure problem is rare now, but was more common with early VP44s. The biggest mechanical problem now is high pressure chamber o-ring seal and diaphram failures. Some times there are also timing piston siezures. The above two failures cause the 0216 code. My belief is the article is right on, concerning fuel pressure requirements, and not necessarily factual on electronic failures caused by the addition of fueling boxes.

I may have read it before..........but interesting!!!!! 91k miles on the inj pump, still running strong w/standyne lubricity formula but ya still never know.............

So if lubrication is a factor, especially with this low sulpher diesel like we have here in CA, what does everybody suggest for more lube. Ive heared of no ash 2 cycle oil, marval mystery, etc., whats the best solution?

Don't use MMO... It contains Mineral Spirits, Benzene, Naptha... It's not a lubricant at all... It might cause problems...
