Pics of Dashboard Removal
NOTE: The images are hosted on photobucket. If you access this thread and find no pics, feel free to PM me and I'll send you the pics. Also, if I do this again, I'll get pics of the actual HVAC box disassembly and reassembly. The pics have details written on them, but I'll try to add in text below if there is further info to pass on. ![]() ![]() ![]() Better detail of the bracket is below ![]() Both visible bolts must be removed, and have matching twins on the other side. The braket is a bit goofy to get in and out, be careful and patient. ![]() ![]() ![]() Take careful note that the color of the info is referring to the same color letters on the pic. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, "simply lifts out" means, rotate the top toward the rear of the truck, and with a buddy to help, lift the bottom off the two bolts on the kick panels. It helps to have the seats all the way back, and reclined a bit. Then, after you have it in mid air, go out the passenger side, allowing the dash to sit on the seat, and run around to assist your buddy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just under the trans dipstick, you can see a vacuum line. There is a connector here, and you must be VERY careful that the line comes back through the firewall with the evap core ends. If it doesn't, go back and start over, because that line makes it all work. ![]() ![]()

Quote:
A brief look shows that the VIN tag is riveted to the firewall, just below where the dash bolts to it. If you look at the VIN tag, on your truck, you'll see the edge of the dash cover just above it. The VIN tag stays in the truck when you disassemble it.

To replace a crack up dash....that Dodge is pretty known for. I've heard that if you put Vasaline on your dash instead of Armor all that it will last longer. I've put it on mine a few times...

It looks like he's doing the A/C evap to me because you don't have to undo the water lines to replace a dash When I do a evap I just swing the passengers side dash over to rest on the passengers seat. It's faster to me and you don't need a second person
