Has any body seen or heard of a allison tranny behind a cummins? Or a kit?

That sounds like it would be awesome. Advance adapters could probably get you an adapter plate or make you one. Then you have to deal with input and output shafts, transfer case for 4wd, torque converter, pressure plate, I think it would just be easier to beef up a 47re and cheaper. But then again if you're goin for the six speeds then...
those allisons shure are amazing. It would be so cool to have one in a dodge with a ctd.

The parts are out there for them just no one has made a kit yet. You need a SAE #2 belllhousing to mount it to the CTD, I believe. And with alil work in the valve body you can get 7F/3R gears.
I might look into it if my DTT fails down the road.

Allison WT series uses a standalone trans control module. It connects to the vehicle through the VIM (Vehicle Interface Module), essentially a fuse box, and the Allison supplied VIW (vehicle interface wiring) The trans is usually connected to communicate with teh engine over a J1939 interface.
Allison 1K/2K/2400 series trannies have their own motorola based TCM (Trans Control Module) It has two connectors, red and grey. One is for VIW Vehicle Interface Wiring, and the other is the trans harness for Main Trans connector and speed sensors and NSBU connector. The VIW is where you connect switched and constant power, various serial communication buss' and control TCM I/O's.
From the post over at the TDR. And I was wrong it's a #3 SAE bellhousing.
Id be really interested in more info!
I know some b series blocks came with that universal bolt patter, that allows almost anything to be bolted up, and yeah once the power puck peters oput in the f550, and they go to a real engine in the f650, it DOES come with an allison and a b series. The C series is the same engine as the b only its 8.3 liters, and the same tranny would go to that as the b.....
The C series is quite a bit larger, same design just larger in size. Good luck fitting one of those in a pickup. It can be done but ya better be handy with the welder and torch.
It is an awesome set-up but the costs involved of doing it are astronomical (unless ya find some smokin' deals and even then ya better share them :THREAT: ).
