"Lopey idle" is a product of overlap in a gasser cam profile. Its because of low RPM bleed off of cylinder pressure. In a diesel, you don't want to bleed off cylinder pressure. So.... no "lopey idle".

Im going to be totally honest ... I HATE when people make thier truck lope on purpose. If you BUILD it ... and it lopes ... then thats fine, nature of the beast. But just to do it? ... Why?

There are guys out there doing "lopey idle tunes" now, and at the flick on a switch, there truck sounds like a full drag truck/puller ... but its really just your average 300hp truck.

And to me, a loping diesel sounds like crap.

I figured doing it electronically would be a bit of a stretch. I just did a few searches on the site for lopey idle and what you're saying is pretty much the concensus. Although, it would be cool, I like my truck the way it is. If there was an easy way to do it without killing your pocket I would do it. I love the sound of the cummins just the way it is, but a lope would just make it that much better.

To each his own. I dont see anything wrong with it. I just wouldnt drop a ton of cash to do it just for the lope though.
