I did some reading, but didn't read it all, so, can anyone tell me if you can bolt a SO VP on in place of a HO VP? I've heard you can't then I heard you could. All I'm looking for is the correct answer.

I got 2 buddy's that have done it. Both of them kept everything else the same and both run perfectly normal and gained a lot of top end. Do the swap. You'll be glad you did.
Well, supposedly the spare 24v I have is an 00 or 01, I don'tknow which. My truck is an 02. So, can this still be done, or does the computer really know the difference in the fuel pumps? fuel pumps and computers are smart, but are they that smart?

Dodgediesel, did you have any CEL or ECM problems? I really, really, really, really, really, really hate, CEL.

I have owned my truck for 4 years and the only code I have ever had was a 0500 which was due to a bad speed sensor. Trust me, change it if you can. I bought one from Source Automtive. Talk to Rip and he'll hook you up. 1 year full warranty even if you tap the wire. He has the best price and is so good to deal with. You will have no ECM issues at all. Just make sure it's the same year of VP44. I would not tell you to go for it unless I was sure. You WILL lose some bottom end but that's the only downfall. If you are looking for dyno numbers, the SO is the way to go. I've tried a HRVP, HO and a SO. The HRVP was a big boost but the idle drove me and my neighbours crazy. I gained more power on the top end with the SO. Your choice but it did me well. :thumbsup

Please post up Source's number. And are you sure the years have to be the same? You can send me a PM if you want.
