oil level

feel like an idiot asking this, but id rather be safe then sorry on this.

i checked my oil level this morning. on the first pull ( truck sat on level ground all night 15 hours ) it was just into the add section of the dip stick. put it back in to double check and it came out a little over the add into the safe. checked it a third time and it was reading it was completely full. so my question is whats my actual oil level

Every time you draw it out, it brings some of that oil up into the dipstick tube, then that gets on the dipstick on the next draw..
Your 1st draw was a good one. imo

I always check oil after the truck has been sitting at least an hour, I also check sitting in the same place. First draw is the most accurate. Before you pull the stick, make sure it is seated all the into the tube.

Dipstick training suggested.
Make sure stick is fully seated each time. And does not move on clamp.

i have it seated the best i can get it, my mechanic broke the top of it off where it says engine oil when he replaced the lift pump. he ordered me a new one but it wouldnt go in all the way. we figured cause it was straight and didnt have the spirals in it like the one that is in there now. so im waiting on another one to come in. =/
