I had mine checked at Rocky MTN cummins. It was very close to that price. They said mine weren't very far off of spec. Job was done at 50K. I would say once per 100k is probably reasonable.

For $267.00, I will adjust your valves. In fact. It isn't hard. If you have 2 days or less, you could do them yourself for absolutely free!

If you are good, it will take you no more than one day for a rip down, adjust, and a test of them with time to spare.

$267.00 sounds darn pricey. You are probably paying $40 - 60 an hour.

Buy a cummins engine manual for $75, a feeler gauge for $4, and a socket set for $30 and buy a tank of fuel with what is left over. The cummins manual is step by step.

I thought it was 220,000 km which is around 135,000 miles not to many bother unless theres some problem. I had 230,000 on mine and never touched them and Know a friend with 400,000 never touched them the money sounds right thought.

well I have around 130,000 on the truck. I bought it with 75,000 and as far as i know it has never been done. So I think tomorow morning im going to drop it of and have that done and have my fluidamper put on also. I would do it my self. But I just dont have time. I work 2 jobs and avrige 70-80hrs per week. But I wish I hade the time to do it my self. I love working on my own stuff.

Seems a little high to me. We charge a little less than that here.

I would say they are billing $90 per hour. Some shops around here are as $115!! Steep.

Holy Cow, how much shop time are they charging and how much per hour. I did my 03 in 1.5 hrs and that was longer than it should've taken. you can do 3 intake and 3 exh valves with 1 rotation of the damper for cryin out loud.
