what fluid does my nv4500 take?

title says it all. i had the tranmission flushed at valvoline and i found out today it takes a special fluid. they did put a full sythentic in but im not sure if its right. also what fluid goes in the transfercase? i beleive its ATF but im just double checking. any help is appericated!!

look in the maintance section of your manual it should say how much and what fluid type it takes.

These are the ONLY lubricants recommended for the NV4500:

* 75W-90 Castrol Syntorque Synthetic
* Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant (PN 4637579)
* GM Transmission oil (PN 12346191)
* NOTE: Syntorque is NOT the same as Castrol Syntech.

Either the mopar or castrol, I believe you need 8.5 pints, check your manual and it should say how much you need.

i dont have my manual lol i bought the truck without one. how much is 8.5 pints into quarts.. sorry about the ty math abilities lol

I put Royal Purple in mine. I vwerifed with them that it was compatible with the NV4500.

pick up a haynes manual, it will do you some good. I buy one for every vehicle I own.

those are the recommended fluids, but there are others that can be used with no problems such as royal purple, amsoil, redline.

yea yea im smarter then a fifth grader. i just didint recall the ratio of pint to quart considering ive never put pints of anything in my truck its always quarts!
