Whenever u change ur transmission fluid does all the oil come out to like the torque converter oil too. I was just wondering. Cuz the lady at the part store said a service change is 4 quarts and to change the whole thing is 16.9 And i have a 47re.

It depends on how long it has been sitting. A few hours and the converter prob hasn't drained all the way. I have no idea how you could get away with just 4 qts. If I drop the pan, with my Hytech DD pan I usually go through 10-14qts.

A "normal" service is from 5-7 quarts plus filter. If you loosen the ten 7/16 capscrews holding the vb a couple turns you will get far more fluid out. Make sure and retorque.

LOL! I've always done that too. So I could get that little extra out too. Also I never hurry a fluid change I always allow for it to stop dripping.

I would need to drink a 12 pack...

(Since I don't have a Auto Trans)

When I chang engine oil in my truck I pull the plug and the oil filter and leave it till it quits dripping. At this point I do other thing like rotate tires, adjust parking brake, check the brake pads, check all other fluids, grease the front end, vacuum out the cab, then... I might eat lunch... Then check and see if it quit dripping...
