need help asap !!!!!

ok i drained the fuel filter water separator housing and alot of diesel came out, now the truck wont start. is it normal for diesel to drain out of the separator housing?

yes it is normal. SHould only drain a small amt. You need to bump the starter but not crank it 2 or 3 times. Lift pump will cycle for 25 seconds.

Hey,

Yeah it's normal for fuel to come out, but it doesn't effect starting, usually!

Did you change fuel filter or anything???

Was the truck running fine before you worked on it??

You might want to check for codes just to be safe!

OBD II Error Codes

Does the truck have the stock lift pump?

no i didnt change the fuel filter, i was just draining the water bcuz i heard your suppost to every once in a while, but i forgot to close it back up for about 30mins. yeah it was running good before i washed the engine and drained the water separator

it has the 1693 and the 1689, but it had them before though

Well that's a bad code to have (P1689)!!!! You could have bigger issues!

Read this:

VP44 Error Codes

If you didn't close it up for 30 mins, the housing is dry. You might want to try and bump the start a few more times.

take a 3/4 wrench and loosin the # 2 and 3 in injector line on the block and try and start th truck this will bleed the system as soon as the truck fires turn it off and tighen the injector lines you should be good
