Hey,

If that doesn't work, try loosening the injectors as mentioned above and see what happens.

After you bump it a while and it won't start (hopefully it does) you could flip the drain valve again and make sure there is fuel in there!

Good-Luck,
Winslow

Like jitt said, youve got air in the lines and youve got to get it out before it will ever start. Your gonna have to loosen a couple injector lines at the head and blead the air out. Dont engage the starter more than 30 seconds at a time and let it cool down for a minute or so between.

Wow! what a mess...

Ok... Here we go...

1. Reprime the fuel system. The reason for this is when you drained the fuel filter housing you allowed air to enter the fuel system. The injection pump is like the brake system it can't pump air bubbles. So hence the truck won't start.
Reprime Fuel System

2. As for that P1689 error code here is som diagnostic information about that code and hopfully its not a failure problem. Check your fuel pump relay if you pulled this relay (or the relay was bad, or fuse blown) the power supply to the VP44 was dissconnected hence tripping the code.
VP44 Error Codes

Yeah, bleed the fuel lines as kummings84 states. If you can't get air out of the system, make sure your lift pump is pushing at least 8PSI. If you got fuel, bled lines and are still not starting, let us know.....

Would an aftermarket fuel system like an airdog still be affected by that fuel relay, or is that relay by passed with a different relay? I have a friend pulling this code and he has a FASS system.
