This is not the best way of watching your fuel pressure but at least its better than nothing!
Only thing about the Cummins low pressure switch is that is comes on at 3.5 PSI which is much too low... I've got one now...

Gauge is the only way to go... DiPricol fuel pressure gauge sells for $40 bucks roughly... Cheaper than Cummins low pressure light...

Give wally at FTE diesel a call, and ask him for a Pyro, trans temp and a fuel pressure gauge, and all the witing as well. It will be about 450 bucks when your done, but it is well worth it.

Ask and get the mechanical fuel gauge and an isolator as well, its mechanical and can't break, unlike an elkectronic gauge...

You need a trans temp because it says you have an auto on it.

Consider it a honnor!

As for the pic that the low pressure switch forward and the tubing running back to the gauge. The needle valve is to control/dampen the pulses...

I never said it was the best, BUT for 20$(sender only) it better than nothing! also if you have a mechanical gauge a light is a must have as well, I dont know anyone who can drive and constantly stare at a gauge at the same time, when the light goes on, it brings your attention to the gauge.

I dont think the low pressure senders are all that well calibrated, I'll double check mine but I think it trips closer to 5-6psi (still we're splitting hairs).

My advice would be, IF your planning in the future on getting a box/chip for your truck, save the money you would spend on gauges and put it towards a box/chip that has a monitor, these type boxes have the ability to monitor all your critical engine parameters (fuel pressure/EGT/tranny temp etc) and it can defuel the truck to keep things within the safe zones, it will also beep and warn you if fuel pressure drops. which is something that mechanical gauges or just a normal box or chip cannot do!
But if your not doing it any time soon invest in a gauge/lite in the interm.

quick mathcanadian prices)
Comp or EZ (500-600$)
Gauges (pyro/fuel pressure/tranny) 300-400$

Edge J/A (comes with monitor ) 700$
Savings 100-300$ and a product that is better

Sorry if I got off topic!!

I Had To Use A Mirror To See The Keyway And Line It Up I Just Used A Bit Of My Wifes Finger Nail Polish At The Tip Of The Key It Showed Up Great. It Took About 6hr. For Me To Do, Not Bad For Someone Not Know What He Was Doing! It Really Smooth The Motor Out.a Lot More Go To It, And No More Dead Pedal. Know All I Need To Do Is Get Some Gauges, And A Better Lift Pump.
