Cool 2001 dodge ram injector pump or Solenoid ?

I am new to the 24v's cummings since i only had 12v before. My question is what usually goes out on these things more often the whole injector pump or solenoid?

Reason i ask....I had a good working injector pump off a parts engine and my uncle decided to barrow it because his truck didn't start. Well once he exchanged the pumps it started right up. He then sold the truck (with my injector ) Now i have his bad old one. Are these things rebuild-able or should i just throw this thing away? How much are they new anyways? Or is their alternative rout? Or the Solenoid fails more then the actual pump?

Thanks

pump, usually the computer on it I have heard.
Keep the bad one as a core and buy a new one.

the computer is part of the pump, dont bother trying the idea of swapping it from another pump as they are specially calibrated for that pump.

The fass you are talking about is the lift pump. A fass, airdog, or raptor are pretty much a neccesity on these trucks.

most venders charge 500$ for a core, so you could try calling a few rebuild places and they may give ya some coin for it,
you wont be able to rebuild it or switch electronics as it has to be done on a bench

Your uncle owes you $1000.00. You can sell the junk one on Ebay as a core.
