it will help some but if you do a lot of interstate driving 3.55 will be a better gear
i have 4.10's in my truck and at 60 im 2k with 265 and i have a exc cab short bed 4x4 also my milage is 17 in town and 18 on the highway but 90% of my driving is in town

this truck is an auto so itll be diffrent. Thats the thing most of my driving is country roads etc but i want to be able to drive it on the highway also when going to my cabin or out to montana.

like I said, I drove my auto 400 miles each way and was running higher rpm's on interstate and still pulled good mpg. If you are usually running lower speeds they are great, and will not hurt it to run faster, but when on interstate just make sure that your stereo works well if you have aftermarket exhaust.
