Shifting style on manual trans.

I have been told not to use the clutch except to get the truck rolling after stopping. Once the truck is going just shift the gears using RPM's. So what is your opinion on this, which is better to use the clutch for every shift or just slide through the gears clutchless? Lets here what you think on this one, just wondering what everyone with a manual trans does and what their shifting style is.

Just what I was told, I use the clutch. Just wondering what everyone's opinion was and what others did.

I sort of do both, wait till the sweet spot in the RPM, depress the clutch and she slides in like butter.

i voted no clutch just to even the score. haha. But i hear its hard on some bearings or like a thrust washer or something to not use the clutch. Honestly i do about 15% no clutch and 85% using the clutch. Don't exactly feel like being the one to tear out my tranny doing this.

I know the feeling on building a new trans, just got mine redone They really like the parts that go into them. I do believe if mine goes again, it will be swapped for something else

well cmns2500, I started to put another option to vote for, but figured i would keep it to 2 options, no maybes lol. I have tried the whole no clutch thing, but it doesn't agree with me. I use the clutch, but was curious as to how bad it was on them to shift without. Had several people say it wouldn't hurt them, and had heard it might be better, but seems kinda harsh in my mind, and the clutch was put there for a reason.

I will say this though. My truck doesn't like being shifted clutchless. But my jeep with the nv4500 does it with no problems , it will just slide through the gears perfectly without the clutch.
