Haha yeah when it went in the Jeep it was in winter with a foot of snow on the road, and it had boggers on it at that time. Well needless to say it was an interesting ride, did a couple doughnuts driving down the road without trying, I'm still amazed I didn't stall the thing!

you can easily clutchless shift these trucks, just like a semi, HOWEVER ..... its rough on the syncros, a friend of mine had worn out sycros on his, i think from power shifting it, so he decided to just not use the clutch, if your syncros are shot, why worry about ruining them otherwise the syncros are pretty reliable

people, theres a reason these transmissions have synchros......this aint a fuller 10 speed with non synchro gears meant for jammin.dont come grippin when you start grinding in every gear after 20k or you break a clutch disk in half or snap a input shaft

we could go into a long, detailed discussion on why not to float shift your pickup.... but the bottom line is: DONT DO IT!

its been discussed on here before, synchro's and helical cut gears are just a couple reasons NOT to float shift your transmission

I dont use my clutch to shift, until i get concrete proof that it hurts something then i will continue to do so. 25k and still counting, not to mention i just had the trsnny pulled at a shop and the synchros and everything still look new. You just have to know how to do it right

Hey,

I guess I've never really tried to downshift with out the clutch, it always seems to be a little harder, but that might just be me??!!
