It is funny I asked somewhat of the same thing and got no reply either. I guess they want to chime in on horsepower adders more than the pieces that tie it all together.

This is just an educated guess.... I believe that stock is around 17-1900. And my suncoast, which is a lower stall, is around 14-1600 rpms. I can't stall mine much more than 14-15 cause it starts to break loose. I had the same prob with my 67 Dart with a 2500stall 727, I couldn't stall it more than 2000-2200 rpms cause it starts to break loose. With a trans break you could flash it to the stall speed if you had enough power (on a gas motor).

I thought it was in the 1800 range also, the Recon triple disc billet I had put in mine had a 250 RPM lower stall speed than factory and I can stall it to about 1500 or so.

I could stall mine at 1900. Trans kept heating up under load, went with the TCI which stalls at 1400-1600. Heating up problem solved in conjunction with bigger trans cooler.

There's no way to accurately determine stall in the truck. Most guys try to use brake stall, but that is far from accurate.

There are just too many variables with all the combos out there. Not to mention the variations when the turbo comes in.
The more power you add, the higher the stall. So the question is, what is the stall at XXX HP.

I understand you arn't able to nail it down to an exact RPM however there are certainly base lines. Factory TC's should lock close to 2000 with no mods.

That's exactly what I am trying to figure out. With what I have in my sig. I was wondering if I should have the stall moved up a tad maybe to 17-1800. Or should I leave it at 16-1800

Most people like their stall lower than stock for mpg reasons.
