thanks for the lift pump advise

thanks for the lift pump advise. The lift pump got replaced, and my 99 pickup seems to be running good. HOPEFULLY there was no perm damage done to injector pump. Thanks again, seb70:

I cant believe the dealer actually put in a good pump, what dealer? The new ones arent loud like the old ones. Does it have filters or is it just a pump?

yes it has 2 filters, is it normal to have the motor crank 5-6 sec. before it starts, and I turned the key the 1 time and I heard the pump and other times I don't so I got under the truck and put my hand on it and it is working just try to understand I just paid $3800. to have the inj. pump and this FASS 150 installed and I don't want anything to go wrong

Not trying to rob your post, but I've got a 2001 with the auto tranny, Not HO engine, Do I need to change my lift pump, and If I do then should I get one that has the filters ? and how often would I need to change those filters.
Thanks

YES, all 24v lift pumps were the same. And they are all prone to failure. If you don't have a light or gauge, you are just driving a time bomb. Eventually it will fail and kill your injection pump
Gmorgan, it should fire right away if there is no air in the system. Just turning the key wont necessarily turn the pump on, but if you bump the motor, it should run for a few seconds then stop again. Did they run the pump right to the injection pump or are they running it through the stock filter canister? If they are running it to the canister, you may want to change that.

it has an air leak somewhere. Check the fittings, check the injector lines and delivery tube nuts. Something is leaking air for sure.

yea I was thinking that the top and sides of my fuel tank are wet with fuel I thought that the return line was leaking or they did not clean it off I picked it up friday afternoon. I'm taking it back monday morning let them look at it for what I paid $3800. they will have to fix it. I should have done it myself but I didn't have the time with work. Thanks
