Same place same time? Sounds like the head is possibly warped. Also, call the stud company and see what the tq specification is from them. do it one more time, but if it blows again after tq it down like the folks in the forum stay, it's a head problem.

to ring it could help, but you are not running enough boost to even start worrying about orings. the studs are good for up to 50 or so on the stock gasket which is a REALLY FUN RIDE.

Is excessive drive pressure the main reason for blown headgaskets? If this is the case and we started to buy external wastegate's would that totally eliminate the need for headstuds? What else besides excessive drive pressures cause head gasket failures?

heat causes gaskets to blow, boost causes it to blow drive pressure isn't the only thing it's one of the things. external gates would not keep gaskets from blowing

My experience is on the 12v but here is what I have learned. Carefully check both the head and the block. Have the head magnafluxed for cracks. Then check it all again! Since you have the same place to look as last time I would pay particular to that area. I use the Cummins marine .020 over gasket and have had good luck running it at 45 psi boost with an HTT charger. Mine is torqued at 130 and it was checked after 500 miles of heat cycles. I asked my mechanic what blows the gaskets and was told that most times gaskets fail for two basic reasons (truck setup like mine that is), lots of fuel on a cold engine or lugging the engine adding lots of fuel. This causes extreme cylinder pressure. The latter is what got mine. It pulled good so I thought why downshift? Result = blown gasket and cracked head! I used the 97 to tow all the time so that is how it was setup.
PS. your pyro has to be toast! No way your engine is less than 800* when you fuel it.
