homemade water injection?

anybody have any ideas on how to make a homemade water injection kit? If not, is there any downsides to water injection? ie... rusting internal parts/or grid heater problems?

By the time you by everything you'll need to make a home made kit you could have bought a nice stage 2 kit and be done with it. There's quite a bit involved in putting something like that together.

No downsides really you just need to use it right and not try to go over board with the methanol part or anything. It's generally a pretty safe power adder and it cools EGT's too. Kind of a two bird with one stone deal.

You really need bigger injector/excess fuel in order to really see good hp gains. A water/meth kit probably wouldn't benefit you that much right now.

Ok - tell me if I'm way off the wall here, but basically I was looking for fuel economy. I'm very close to upgrading to RV 275's and I was hoping that at the same time that I did this, I could build me a cheap, homeade propane kit and a homemade water/meth injection kit. From talkin to the old farmers that used to run propane/butane tractors/pickups, they claim that propane is VERY hard on valves. Talking to diesel guys, I've heard propane runs high EGT's easily which would be in turn hard on pistons and the turbo (my guesses) Now- if I put in a little water to counteract the disadvantages of the propane, maybe I could acheive better mpg's without harmful side effects. But with injectors and propane, I'd think that a little water to cool the burn would help. Regardless, I think that my comp box can overfuel for the air that I can give it and then add 275 injectors to that....

Like Farmboys said... far cheaper/safer to just buy a good one. You have potential to damage your engine or not have any affectiveness at all.

i made my own and it was really easy, worked great and was really cheap, entire thing plus 2 gallons of 50/50 mix cost less than 30 bucks, used the stock windshield washer components and worked great ever since

$600 for a stage 11 kit is out of budget. A simple kit for under a hundred dollars should be achievable. I doubt there are many if any benefits for a motorist.
