Here is a normal run...

You most likely have a 2001 truck... 2001's have this problem...

Your right, its a 2500 2001 qc. I have tried the key trick numerous times just as your excellent instructional video shows but to no avail. There really is only one "p done" displayed.
I also have the pictures I took of the loose connection that killed my instrument panel and threw the 1687,1694 and 1693 codes. I will upload them.

Arcwelder

I have to figure out how to make a sig.

Arcwelder - Your one set of dtc codes are normal. It seems maybe somewhere in 2001 a change was made. I was on the TDR board from day 1 of ownership of my 2000 model truck (bought late 1999) and have known of this key on-off trick from the 1st month. Mine has never done anything from the first month other than give the PXXXX code(s) and return to the odometer. My ECU(s) have never been touched.

P1690 (M) Fuel Injection Pump CKP Sensor
Does Not Agree With ECM CKP
Sensor
Problem in fuel sync signal. Possible injection pump
timing problem. Low power, engine derated, or engine
stops.
P0341 (M) Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor
Signal
Problem with voltage signal from CMP.
1693 is a companion code. Goes with these other two.
What kind of fuel pressure are you running?

1693 is telling you you have other codes. 0216 is telling you that your injection pump needs to be replaced. 0234 you have aproblem with the wastegate.

Injection pump needs to be replaced- this is a $1000 part, along with this you need to check your lift pump. If you have a stock lift pump then this contributed to the VP failure. You need to have an aftermarket lift pump put on, such as Raptor, Fass, Or Air dog. DO NOT PUT ON A FASS DDRP! If you dont have a fuel pressure gauge, you need to get one of these installed. This will help you to make sure that your VP doesn't have an early death.

Not sure on the wastegat. Hopefully someone else will chime in and help you out! Good luck!
