Issues with Injector install

Last night I installed my 200Hp Columbus Diesel Supply Sticks and everything went very smooth. After a couple cranks it fired up and Idled better than my old stockers and I shut it off. When I started it about Ten mins later it fired up way faster than the truck has ever started before. The test drive went good and it had plenty of power and more than I expected. When I left the shop at the end of the night the truck had to crank like hell to start and even stalled when I put it into drive out of reverse. I don't know if this is common with such a big injector or not. I just may not be used to it.

The other thing I did notice is that it doesnt smoke much at all. If I have my Edge on it will puff a nice big cloud only if I am at full throttle but it is a very short lived cloud. I know It should be smoking a lot more than it is. I can lug it and get a really thick cloud but it is very short lived. There is either a lot of smoke or none. When I am at half throttle there isn' enough to call it smoke coming out of my tailpipe. My truck has always seemed to smoke less then everyone elses. What could be causing this? The smoking issue and the fact that I smell raw fuel inside my truck all the time is the only thing. There is absolutly no leaks but inside the cab there is a strong presence of raw fuel. You can't even really smell it in the engine bay. It is almost like it is coming out of the vents.

one thing for your comp. what fuel setting are you on. cuz its adjustable levels 1 -5, but each level is adjustable as well. i had my truck for a year before i figured it out. cranked it up to 5x5 and holy crap. now i can smoke! it doesnt black out the skys. but its a hefty amount and if i do it rite i can smoke thru all 6 gears while getting to over 90mph. dont know bout the injectors causing it to die. when i did mine the idle was really jumpy. like bouncing from 600 to about 1000 rpm just sitting still. it still acts up now and agian but other wise its pretty calm.

It is on 5X5. At first my truck idled better than it ever had and then it just slowly went back to normal idling but isn't bad. It just got smoother than I ever remember.

chris check your orings on your fill tubes sometimes they will get pinched or even ripped and that will cause the hard start after sitting. something to me doesnt sound right about your comp. I can come up and check it out for you I could plug in my ez and tell you right away if your comp works or not. thanks danny

Haha yeah my snail is the stocker. It gets hot quick and I am trying to be easy and watch it until I get a bigger one. I have seen 1500 already though. My IP is good though. I have went through enough of them I usually can tell. I think it is the comp too. before the injectors with just the comp, the truck still never really smoked much. My buddy plugged his in once and it was hard to tell in the dark but I think it smoked way more than mine and had a couple more pounds of boost.

Danny I talked to one of the people running the pulls on Friday and it is supposed to be a pretty big event. 9 classes and they are running two tracks. I looked at the track today and it looks rather sticky. I am scared for my little Dana 70. We should have a truck or two in the pits with a good view. Your welcome to join us.
