Im going to be running a aftermarket cam on my 01 as well as upgraded valve springs... just checking to see if its worth it while the motor is torn apart...
i say for the money i would do it.....i am sure a few vendors here can help you out Ian :thumbsup

I'd say, have you hurt what you got? How many people do you know that has actually hurt the stock push rods on one of these? I think that would only come into play if you planned on some very high rpm's. but then again if you do have it apart that would be the time to do it
IMO if your running high pressure springs then it's cheap insurance
i have heard of a few guys bending and breaking them....but only a few
they are easy to add at any time down the road

I have the Source Automotive push rods on both of my trucks. Remember it's not just about the strength, but the weight. The less weight, the less inertia, which means the easier the valve springs job is. Not to mention stress on the rest of the valve train components. By looking at the stock push rods, it hard for me to believe that these rods bend. I can believe they get bent, which may seem like the same thing but it's not. Coil bind, valve float, and improper maintance can bend push rods. I don't remember what the weight reduction was, but it was quite a bit.
