turbo spool rpm

what rpm do your turbo's lite?
what elevation are you, turbo your running, injectors, programmar/s, cam. manual or auto?

trying to see if mine is were it should be, and what i can change to make it better, or get more top end air suffering very little spool up time.

1700ish
5000-3500ft. super b, 75hp vco, adr. DTT auto.

i dont get hot down low, but CAN smoke like a train, but gets hot up top.... not enough air

What do you mean by light? When the boost gauge comes off the peg? 10 psi? Full boost?

i can see 3 psi at around 1300rpm's, 10 psi around 1500, and full boost shortly after. IMO you have plenty of air, whats your total boost?

total can hit 40psi, sometimes it only goes to 35 or so. depends how i fuel it i guess.

i mean like i get some boost at like 1500, but at 1700 the peg jumps and rips. 1700 is where mine really jumps psi and gets me going. i guess its full boost i am speaking of.

I see full boost around 2000rpm. 7x14, mvp, and 63/68/14.

Do you have a boost elbow or just using the wastegate on the Turbo?

Either way it sounds like you may need to adjust the wastegate. I know your at a higher altitude but it should help. I'm way over fueled and I see lower egt's than you.

Elevation is going to make you have more lag and smoke, I can light my twins at around 1500rpm +-100rpm depending on tune. I ran a superb special for a while and at 5500ft elevation it smoked like a pig. I'd think you should be building boost a little quicker than 1700rpm.

Agreed about the elevation!

As well, my twins "light" (reach 15-20lbs and flash to 60lbs) around 15-1600 RPM depending on how I'm driving and tuning.

ok. thanks guys. maybe its my tuning in the quad making it laggy. or maybe i have a boost leak somewhere? or would bigger injectors make it spool faster?

with twins, will it spool faster, same, slower than it does now?

i am waiting on studs then i will play with the wastegate and go for 45-48psi. twins are the ultimate future plan.

5000-3500ft. super b, 75hp vco, adr. DTT auto.
comes off the peg around 1300, by 1500 I'm lit and pulling hard
sea level, Super B, 125hp VCOs, Quad Max Mileage timing box, 5spd.

wastegate set at 45psi (until I get my head flowed/o-ring/studs), I get there quick. I was very impressed, I didn't think the Super B would do as well as it has. Had to play with the wastegate a lot at first though.. maybe that's where you're lacking? funny tune on Quad?

my tunes on the quad are
11
7
100
1800/2000 (two seperate tunes, pump stretch is the only difference)
80
25
80
25
20

i think thats all the tune info. it would be awesome to spool at 1500!!!! but i know my elevation will hurt that

1500-1700 is where it really starts to pull (10psi to 65psi in about 1 second). depends on what rpm I floor it at though, and what tune I currently have it set on.
