Best towing programmer

Im in the market for a new programmer and I wanted to get some opinions as to which programmer would work the best for towing. My truck is a daily driver, but I tow about 10000 lb trailer about 2-3 times a week. Thanks in advance.

I tried a van aaken and a ts mvp both worked well but I wanted more when not towing so I added the quad addrenaline and have both lots of power when I want it and turn it on level two for good towing power.Iit would have been a lot cheaper if I would have went this route from the start

With the amount of issues I've seen the Quad ADR guys have the last thing I would want to do is put it on my money maker. Between the screen freezes and surging issues I am pleased with how my Comp box works. Don't get me wrong the ADR is a great programmer.... when it works.

I love the ease of use and power the Edge Comp add's, there's no parameters to play with just 5 levels of power from 40-120 HP by pushing a little button. Worst case scenario the EGT's get a little warm you turn the power level down. Just my opinion though.

Im one of the guys that had some issues, none of which cause driveability issues and most issues are operator error. The surging I have never experienced, and I believe that is more of a higher hp setting. I have had a screen freeze, just change power level up and down on the programmer and it unfreezes. Also as with any fuel pressure guage I found you need to put a needle valve in before the guage, no biggie, 10 bucks.

There is alot of safety features you can program in on the quad that the edge does not have. Turbo timer, lots of defuel settings from boost to fuel pressure, you can monitor coolant temp, oil pressure and temp, theres just a ton of stuff to adjust.

Ive had Edge as well as my current Adrenaline. Edge is way less adjustable, which in turn makes it easier to use. Adrenaline has more to learn about because it does more.

As far as reliability I think they are the same. If you search on the surgine I think you will find its fairly isolated to folks change all the fueling parameters. Correct me if Im wrong.

I have had an Adrenaline/Pv2 on my work truck for 9 months now, and really like it. If you start using beta tunes, you could have surging issues, but they are unnecessary for your application. 99% of the time, issues are from operator error. The quad is cutting edge technology. If you are going to randomly press buttons, and monkey with setting that you have no idea what they are, get the edge. If you want to support a company that is trying to advance technology and have better programers in the future, get a quad.

xj1514: Glad to hear you are giving the quad a chance. I bet you are really starting to like it now.

I have had an adrenaline since they first came out. only issues mine has had was the buttons on my pulse monitor (first generation of pulse monitor before they came out with the pulse V2) stopped working, but I (like others) took it upon myself to fix the buttons by modifying the cover and button length, and soldering tactile switches in place so it has real buttons now. haven't had a single issue with it since, and the modification cost me less than $5, and 20 minutes of my time with a dremel a pair of side cutters, and a soldering iron.

Thats why I tend to lean away from recommending the Adrenaline to guys who are newer to diesel performance. Not because its a bad box... but because it has so many adjustable parameters that often times people over adjust and screw up the tune making the truck run bad. Thats where a lot of the complaints against the Adrenaline come from. They get frustrated and blame the box, when its really operator error.

really if you want the best all around power and reliability...get injectors. by far the biggest and smoothest power gain. Smarty is also good to have just because you can use it to get through emissions with big fuel setups!
