Quad 4k tunes, what are you running yours at?

Ok I'm curious to know what your tunes are? How do they work with your setup? What tunes have you tried with bad results? Do you have different tunes for pulling, drag racing, economy?
My base settings I'm running thanks to Branden246!
Timing 8deg
Timing Scale 100
Max pump stretch 5400
Tps pump max 80
Tps pump min 35
Tps can max 80
Tps can min 35
Boost scale 20
Ok well it fuels really hard out of the hole and pulls hard till I let off, I'm going to try 10deg timing. I've only hit about 3850 rpm's still don't see 4000.
My boost numbers drop a little in OD to about 40 so I don't know what I have to change. I'm going to run 1/4 mile end of next week so I'll try some new stuff. I'm still not sure what changing some of the parameters is gonna help but maybe someone does!

Well now I'm curious what's it do that you think that 7deg is to much? We have about the same turbo but your injectors are bigger? Inquiring minds need to know?

When I got my adrenaline 4k I tried it on the factory settings and wasn't very impressed, I looked on the website and found no tunes for the 4k. There has got to be alot of people running custom tunes- and if not you guys have nooooo idea what the adrenaline is capable of!!!

Thanks branden, Im in the tuning stage so rather then getting beat up for buying a product with no info to back it up LOL!!!! Sorry I had too!!! I love the way mine runs - but if I change the settings to something else will it run better? I know change it and find out for your self is what I'll get out of most but I honestly don't know what the settings do?

You could change the tps max to make it to come on faster. It actually makes it feel like a different truck. Try setting that to 60% just to do it. The power comes on very fast with that setting. There is just so many different ways you could tune it. Try to run it on a lower power level as well. Try 7-9 to see if it feels like it has more power. Some people have had higher dyno numbers with lower power levels on the quad. Jamie gave me a starting base with mine and I just played with it from there to see where I liked it the most and where it felt the strongest.

Well I just got mine back from being updated. Honestly at first I was kind of dissapointed. I ran a modified version of the torque tune before and I always had it on level 7-9, mostly 9. Well with the factory tuning on the 4k it didnt seem as powerful as before, but after some fine tuning it really woke it up. I run it on level 6 now and it feels like it has more power now. I have noticed though that I cant seem to find a setting to get rid of some lag. Before I could be literally at 1k rpm and hit the throttle and it would dump huge cloud of smoke and take off. Now it wont start fueling or smoking like that and takes much longer. I have noticed a big decline in smoke as well. It is also a little more gray than before. My box has been acting quirky though. Sometimes I will start the truck up and take off and it has more power than stock, but less than level 2 power. When I shut it off if the EGT is above my preset limit the truck will continue to run no matter what I do. Hitting the throttle doesnt make it shut down. Then the next time I start it up it will run as normal. I havent been able to tap into the true potential of this box yet though. I am on the hunt for valve springs as we speak. So far though I have my rev limiter at 3,700 and have hit 3,400 once with no popping or surging so hopefully I might be one of the lucky ones.

In all that rambling I forgot to post my settings.

Timing: 8
Scale: 100
Pump Stretch: 5400
Tps Max: 80
Tps Min: 20
Can Max: 70
Can Min: 0
Boost Scale: 25

Ive had the tps down to 70 and 0 and had surging issues and well as the boost down to 20. I still have a little bit of surging with these settings, but only if im on the pedal and then back out a little bit. It just wants to run. haha With these settings though you only have 1/4 of the pedal. Its either cruising or go past 1/4 and hang on. Thats how I like it though.

Thanks Curtis026 that's what I'm looking for real experience on what's working and not. Were running similar setups on numbers, what level are you running at? I'm on 13 and and really haven't tried lower levels, I figured higher the number the more power!!!! It's raining today so no play time but I'm gonna run it at the Cecil Dragway Friday and Buck tractor pulls saturday for the side by side racing in the dirt. I'm still a little nervous about hooking to the sled with no traction bars and I gotta find a pulling hitch.
Does exhaust smoke tell you anything about how your setup is? What boost pressures should I be seeing?

I run mine on level 6. I have noticed a big reduction in smoke from the regular adrenaline. Also my boost is now around 32 where as before I was hitting over 40. I think that box may have been whacked from the beginning though. It had literally fried itself so I sent it back and they sent me a brand new 4k box. So how knows if the old readings were even right or not. But running that tune on level 6 there is some slight surging only when hammering on it and then backing off the throttle a little bit. It just wants to keep going. It does get a little worse in the upper levels. I am still tweaking it myself.

With the 240 vco nozzles I would see 60 psi with the special. I also shut the wastegate a lot on mine to get that out of it. If your truck still smokes a lot even when the turbo is fully lit, it's over fueled. Try to shut the wastegate some by shortening (or extending) the rod. I can't remember which way it is at the moment.
