You can get a larger elbow for the exit on the turbo, but the larger pipe helps open things up and flow better. To get a complete 4" exhaust an upgraded turbo(S300 or hx40) and hx40 downpipe is the best way.

Yes, the turbine outlet is only 3"...and yes a 4" dp will help if going with a 4"exhaust".
Just be sure if you buy a 4" dp to tell whoever that it is for a stock turbo so they can get you the right size for the inlet.

The VA is timing only...it adds some fuel but only what it can through the can-bus (data link) connector via the computer (doesn't tap the pump wire).
Some VA's had a toggle switch that allows you to run a timing only setting or timing+fuel setting. Mine has the toggle switch...I like it just for that reason...I can run it either way depending on my mood.
I usually just run the VA on timing only and use the TST to add fuel...seems to get better MPG that way.
I dyno'd a little over 400 the last time...but I've had some IP issues for about 2 yrs. now...it runs so I don't mess with it.
