well i am not sure how to measure the turbine houseing and i dont think i will be able to get the houseing off to measure the turbine but it is off a class 8 its off a series 60 detroit. they started using it with egr motors and the vanes are actuated by air but i am going to switch it for now over to a cable and work it by hand to see if it will even work at all and as for now the thoughts are to probly leave it set at one setting for normal driveing. i am not sure how familure you guys are with them but its a 12.9 liters and with this set up the engine is able to spool it at idle by moving the vanes around. i know if it dont work i will prob set it up with a twin set but for now i think i am going to try it as a single and see what happens

I doubt those 150's will light that sucker, even with the turbine cranked down

my orginal plan was to do a twin setup and still want to i just have not messed with them to much from what i heave found i can get a kit that uses my stock turbo or a hx35 say with a s400 or a hx55 so thats how i found this garret variable vane, i messured it and its a 70 in and 80 ex i have looked around and searched trying to find out the exhaust houseing size with no luck but has any one used a variable as a second turbo and any thoughts on how this beast will react as twins or a single, any thoughts would be great thanks

ok well after hunnting for parts i got everything and installed it had to make a oil return line along with a cac hose, got it bolted up and made a 55inch down pipe that dumped under the truck for the moment to see what happens, got the truck started let it warm up i tack welded the vanes almost closed to see what happens, took off down the road it made no boost at 1\4 throtle egt was cool, from a dead stop flat to the floor it was smokey till about 2500rpms and it came to life all at once pegged 55psi very fast and the egts never got past 1100 on a hard pull to 80mph it cleared up all smoke and pulle real hard. i think if i had more fuel there is plenty of more potential left but as for a daily driver it aint for me, but it will work great for the strip or even pulln, i also think if a p pump with big gov springs could take fulll advantage of this turbo, but for now its comen back off and goin up for sale. i tried to post pics of it but i cant figure it out sorry guys but i will say this it looks nasty!!
