mays well go with the 150, just like stated above once you start your going to want more and this way you will have all the fuel you ever need. I have doen the 6 speed swap fair size job, but over all not too bad if you got everything you need. Best thing is to have a donor truck or have a guy thats wants to do the swap with you then you would have both trucks side by side. I got the edge juice had it for 2 years and its great

im not looking for alot i would like to have 300 hp maybe 450-500 tq i use my truck to pull a skid loader, camper, and boat. i am willing to upgrade my tranny but i am really thinking about swaping for a 6 speed. looking into it but really nervous. i think that i would rather just upgrade my current tranny and just get a 6speed in my next truck (also would rather have a long bed) anybody wanna trade? lol

Just a little FYI on the tranny swap. I just finished looking into this and unless you get a donor truck for super cheap, it will cost quite a bit more to do a swap than it would to build up your auto. I want to do alot of mods mind you so I was looking at a Southbend clutch which is worth more than my torque converter. With the right tranny mods. you may be surprised how nice the tranny shifts. My vote is talk to Dave Goerend at Goerend Bros. for any auto info.

Dave Goerend told me that if I wasn't dragracing or sledpulling I would need a flexplate, torque converter, and valvebody. If you call him and explain the hp you plan to have and how you use your truck he will tell you what you need. Others told me how he wouldn't try to oversell any parts you don't really need. This is very true. He told me what the weak spots were and how to fix them for what I need.
