redline box?
how good are these boxes? i like how they claim they dont cut back fuel until desired i want to get into sled pulling more. it suggests stronger valve springs anything else i should do to the motor besides the normal. turbo, liftpump, injectors stuff like that. thanks

id say pass on the redline right now if you are looking to get into the sport....get a quality box like an edge drag, build from there, see how you like the sport, and then see if you want to take it further (you can still pull and have fun without the redline)...like mentioned above, you're gonna have to build your rig up to be able to handle it, so for the time being, im gonna say no to the redline

I have heard the Redline box is not reliable or streetable, Its wide open or nothing. But thats just what I have heard. I am looking for something that will RELIABLY get me to fuel 4k, & heard but dont know if its true or not, that smarty was going to be coming out with a 4k tune for the VP trucks. If it is true it may be worth it to waite till they do.

The redline box is a all or nothing box for sure. I only use mine for pulling because it is too touchy for street driving. The box is very touchy when trying to launch as well. I gotta watch my rpm gauge very carefully, if I launch at 4200, it is fine. If the revs go over 4260rpm, it cuts off fuel & shudders. You can hear it in this video, I had to let out & start over a few times because it kept cutting off power. YouTube - Listie Grove, 11-1-09; Jamie Lent

Im curious if getting the upgrade to a unlimited box would fix that problem. They dont seem to have the fuel cutting problem and go 4300rpm+. Im gonna see what happens when i get the redline on the truck and stack it with the jim jessup tune thats on the ecm.

Im gonna playing with it quite a bit in the next couple weeks once i fix the power to the airdog so the ecm doesnt cut fuel. I might just do it like yours so i dont forget to turn the airdog on thats all i would be worried about. I might give chip a call next week about the upgrade. I need to get ahold of monster mike and pick his brain about a few things but cant seem to get ahold of him maybe i have the wrong number.
