03 Brake swap

I am thinkin of swapin disk brakes onto the rear of my truck and was just wonderin how big the rotors off the newer truck are. So i know if I would need 17" wheels or not. Tried searchin cause i know this has been talked about before but couldn't find it. Thanks for the help.

the 3rd gen calipers will require at least a 17" wheel. 16" wheels will not work... hope that helps

i know that some 17s are a little thicker and wont clear so it will depend on the wheel

This question may be off topic but how hard would it be to switch from drum brakes to disc brakes on the rear??

Thanks I knew the fronts I would need 17s but i didn't know if the rotors on the rear were the same size. I hear that the swap is easy from drum to disk just pull everything off includin the backing plate and i hear it will just bolt up but thats just what i hear.

If they stop better then the drums then it would be worth it to me as 38"s don't like to stop rolling to fast. Sunscribed...

That EGR kit looks like a good kit, I'll probably go that route unless I run across a rear disc axle setup before I build up the funds. How hard and costly is it to put 3rd gen rotors and calipers on the front??
