well i heard the hot rod VP44 kills your mileage and only needed if you are shooting for high high horsepower.

i dont have one. it would prob decrease mpg. it will increase power (depends on what pump you get). they will have the same problems that a regular vp have. some say they are more "temprimental" than a so or ho pump. but none of this has been proven.

mine is an old old ATS hotrod vp44 i love it, put almost 60k miles on it and never had a problem with it. didnt hurt the mileage to bad either, only noticed about 2 mpg lower.

well ive got a a scheid hrvp on the truck right now and it gets great mileage. Not sure why you would get less mileage anyways if you drove normal. A hrvp is just a sovp with a ho computer on it. When i made a 600mile trip one way the cruise was set at 85mph 2700rpm and i got 17mpg. I have gotten 21mpg on highway trips. Those were with the hrvp 125s and a hx35.

thanks for the input. just wondering what real experience is thedieselstore.com says there hrvp, i think bosch, gives 40 hp more and they say mpg increase. obviously mpg depends how you drive, but wondering if the extra $500 they have on it would be worth it

hot ord vp44
runnin the hot vp pump on my 02 6 speed and the day after i had it installed i got 25 miles to the gallon on a road trip, pump works great, but you need the right lift pump to feed it or its pointless/ burn it up! im running the industrial injection hot rod vp44, got it installed for 1900 bucks last year. great pump, also been told you dont need the hot rod if your not makin big power to so think about it before purchasing.
