It consists of s light spring that holds the vanes wide open when the throttle is totally relaxed.. This provides the failsafe if something breaks, and also keeps the turbo from choking the motor when idling... Then, you have a throttle cable attached to the vanes with a fairly decent spring.... That way, when you mash the go pedal, it closes the vanes up for fast spool... The further down you mash the pedal, the tighter the vanes close. Then you have a standard wastegate actuator that pushes the vanes back open as the boost comes up where you want it.... This prevents over-boost.

With this setup, you also don't have to worry about the turbo barking very easily as when you let up on the throttle, the vanes immediately open up wide...

For engine breaking, you put a 12 volt pull type solenoid on the vane control arm that pulls the vanes all the way shut when you let up on the throttle, creating the restriction and engine braking.... You have a toggle switch to enable/disable this option.

I hope that's clear enough to understand... The video shows it better... I'll try and find it.

I'm really interested in doing this. Sounds real good. Me likey. No only could the exhaust brake be used for the brake, but, maybe with some experimenting, for smokeless spoolup?

I'm hopin' to maybe get the adapter finished Sunday afternoon if possible.... Then I get to start workin' on the control system.. yeah..........

Build me an adaptor to please I can paypal you the $ plus the fee's.

I'm wanting to do this to the wifes 12v as soon as funds and parts become available

I really just need the adaptor, and a slightly more detailed write up on the springs/solenoid setup.

I can get the downpipe, airfilter tubing and turbo to intercooler piping done here locally.

Well, I Pay the machinist $50 for each pair of flanges... Then I have the cost of the tube stock (not much) and about 2 hours of my time...... Plus consumables on my welder and die-grinder........

So, not sure yet on cost really..... What do you all think would be fair? Better yet, wait till I post up pics of the piece to see if it's what you want.....

Part of the time-consuming side of this is all the work I'm doing to them to make them smooth and free-flowing inside... My goal is when it's done to not have any "edges" that can be felt with a fingertip.

Let's see some pics of it if you don't mind. Since I've already got my truck setup for an HE351cw, it should be pretty easy to get it in place.

No, I haven't..... Do to some "friction" between the bosses wife and I, I'm choosing NOT to use ANY of the resources at work for personal after work projects... But, I have a new MIG welder on the way for myself..... I'm hoping to get back to it really soon as I have about 3 other jobs pressing as well that need done around here...... Haven't forgotten you all, just letting you know what's up!

I ordered my two weldable turbo flanges and turbo already. No need to worry about me yet....

I am waiting on the flange for the 6.7 turbo side and then a few trips to my friend at the muffler shop, and machine shop, and I think we'll be good to go...

If you have a day it might be ready feel free to post it up. Might get one from you after all...
