There was only a couple of pictures in this thread that showed someone rolling coal on the highway, or in an intersection. The majority of these pictures were at the track, or a sled pull, or out in the middle of nowhere, and I personally don't see a problem with that. A lot of those trucks making big smoke were also making big power. It happens.
Sure it shouldn't be done in town, or around a bunch of people. I hate seeing some flat-biller hanging out the window taking pictures of a smoked out intersection, but none of that was in this thread.
