The freeze plugs inside the head are stuck in pretty good. It looks like the machine shop used a chisel to "mark" the edges in 4 spots on each plug. I'm not too worried about those. The rear plug is replaced with a billet tapped plug. Funny you bring that up because I'm considering making one while I've got the turbos out and I can reach that rear plug.

For those pondering the EGT issue, I forgot to mention I changed from a 75/83/1.1 to a 75/96/1.32 on the primary.

They will both outflow the VP. You'll just have more idle haze.

So did you have more of an EGT problem before or after you swapped the primary? Seems like it should be a little cooler now that theres less restriction. Wonder if swapping to a 14cm on the secondary would help any. Has anyone ever ran a t4 housing on their secondary on a vp44 truck? Just curious id say it would probably be too laggy doing that.

You have no control of the injector like you do with a common rail and a "low" pressure injection pump compared to the cr.

Seems like they're slightly lower with the primary. I can let it have more power with the egts staying cool, but max effort is always super hot.
I've wanted to swap in a 14cm housing, but they're over $500 for just the housing. Finding a used one hasn't worked so well either. I won't go to a T4. I like quick spool!

This weekend I remade the mounting bracket for the primary turbo this weekend, cleaned up both exhaust housings and painted them, and re-shined my secondary compressor housing.

I gotcha. I figured a 14cm housing would be within reason on a vp44 but Ive never heard of someone using a t4 in a twin setup on a vp44. Im sure it could work on a high flowing 12v or p pump 24v.
Are you planning on polishing the primary charger housing while you have it apart?

I have a 14 housing on mine, our setups are identical except I have a 47re. I'll be interested to see how it runs once I get it all put together but with the 62/65/14 as a single it was very easy to get under the turbo when locking the converter

As you can see the one I got with the kit was scabbed together pretty bad. The vertical piece on the left was a single piece, but it wasn't cut straight. The vertical piece on the right was scabbed onto it for some reason. It didn't make it any stronger though, so I'm not sure what its purpose was. It was also made to use the spacers on the stock exhaust manifold. I didn't want those on there with the new stainless manifold.

I'm sure it is within reason for some, but I can't justify the cost of a new one.
No, I'm not. It's not worth the work considering you can't see it without actually looking for it. It is painted though so it goes well with the piping / secondary.

That'll be interesting to see! Post up when you get it together.

I ordered a manifold, gaskets, mounting bolts, paid for the injectors to be rebuilt, and bought a rebuild kit for the 75. I'll also be building a coolant bypass while everything is apart. I'm working on figuring out what pressure I need a valve to be at. More to come on that later.
