Tried this and still no luck.

Ok, Here is my problem. I have an 01 with an auto and changed out the turbo for a HX35. I put in a Van Aaken 65hp box and boost elbow on the turbo. The truck doesn't go beyond 22lbs of boost. Thats with the elbow full adjusted. What Is going wrong?

i am not sure about the van aiken box but it would need to do boost fooling also to get your desired boost. hopefully someone will chime in that knows about this box. i wanna say that it does not do boost fooling.

Why couldn't you J-hook your wastegate? If you have a HY35 then yes you could.

You should see plenty more boost than your stock turbo will want with your setup once you get the wastegate right.

EDIT: I see you have a 99 model, which "should" have a HX35, so you would need a boost elbow, not a j - hook!

I don't have any experience with the Van Aaken's, so I can't really help ya there.

If you have the allen screw in the boost elbow screwed all the way in, and still can't get over 22 psi, then maybe the VA doesn't boost fool and the ECM is defueling. OR the wastegate acuator rod is incorrectly adjusted. I never had to adjust my rod.

Checked the Programmer

Ok I checked the box the programmer came in and it's supposed to have a built in boost delimiter. So my next question is what's involved with adjusting the wastegate rod

I believe the VA box is a timing box, not fuel.

the boost elbow is the copper fitting that came with juice w/ att correct? if so than it's installed. shouldn't i be able to see more boost?

my VA box plugs into the MAP sensor (on my 98), i would assume it does boost fooling.

also one other thing to take into consideration is..all things being equal if you throw more timing into the mix (which is what the VA box is doing) you generally see less boost

less boost doesnt actually mean less hp, so ask yourself why do i think i need more boost:
are the EGTs too high?
is there alot of smoke?

if you answered no, then you dont need more boost....
