3000 mile 02 build...

We'll, were underway. Been accumulating parts all winter, still have some to go, but the teardown has begun. In short trying to wring out a lot of power from the truck with twins, cam, head porting, and all the supporting mods. What will it do for a number, who knows, but it will be fun seeing what it will do!

First off is the head is coming off and going to Greg @ ZZ Fab. He's cutting the intake portion of the head off and doing a full on port and polish job. He's also cutting for new intake valves that will flow better and cutting oring grooves. He's already got the new intake built and it has been Jet Hot coated. He should have it in his shop by now to help expedite the turnaround process on the head.

New cam will be going in next...

I will try and get some pics of the process as the teardown continues tomorrow. I must say, after working on my other Cummins trucks and friends trucks with close to or over 100,000 miles, it is very refreshing to work on a truck this clean. My hands hardly get dirty. Heck the exhaust manifold still has its factory finish. Feel free to ask questions or whatever.

That's all I've got for pics right now. Hopefully I'll make more progress tomorrow.

As for the twins, it's an S480 under what is yet to be determined. Leaning towards a 64/71/14 right now. My only reservation is that between a cam and the head porting I might be able to spool a bigger secondary. Decisions decisions...

I'll get some photos of the underside if I think about it tomorrow.

Great build man!

I think the 64/s480 will handle pretty much as much fuel as you can throw at them with a vp44 pump. jmo
