2WD front suspension overhaul

Enough with the periodic repair of failed suspension components...I'm going to do a complete overhaul of my truck's front suspension. If it moves, I'm replacing it! This may sound a bit extreme, but I drive 50K+ per year and time is $$. My question revolves around the upper and lower control arms. Since the replacement units come with bushings and ball joints installed, which mfg. produces the quality parts these days? I've been looking at RockAuto for ideas, but I'm not up to speed who builds the good stuff. Any suggestions?

I have heard a lot of good things about Moog parts. That is the brand that everybody uses when replacing the ball joints and they are supposed to hold up better than the stock ones.

That's good to hear. I've used Moog on the past on race vehicles, so it's refreshing to hear that they still make good parts. Coils are on the list; did you go stock or add some spring rate to them?

BTW, does anyone know what the Moog 'R' series is??

Hmmm, not finding upper control arm assemblies on Moog's own site. Did you use another mfg. for these?

I bought everything from rockauto, and used a coupon from retailmenot.com

I never replaced my coils that was the only thing i didnt do , going to buy some and replaced them soon. When you do let me know what kind you got if stock or stronger.

You don't happen to recall the Moog part # for the upper control arms? All I'm seeing are units from other mfgs.

Make sure you look into Moog. I've read a couple negative reviews on here recently. If you're looking for overkill, check out carli:

I've also seen a few negatives, still the trend seems positive. I checked out Cali but only see 4WD parts.
