Can anyone give me any insight as far as what brand speakers that you replaced your stock ones with, fronts, rears, and tweeters.Wanting to get some that sound good. I know that the fronts are really shallow so i want some that fit without much modification to the mounting holes. Also does anyone know the speaker depth of the fronts and rears?
fwiw, i was able to fit infinity kappas in the front doors without any modifications, and they have a pretty big magnet. my personal recommendation would be infinity or alpine.
I recommend Diamond Audio. Using MDF i made a spacer to help bring the speaker forward allowing me to fit a deeper speaker without hitting against the window glass.

I understood that it wasn't that simple if you have the Infinity OEM system since every speaker has its own amplifier. And if you have the pillar tweeters then you have the Infinity system no matter if it says it anywhere or not. I too would like to add some bass to my stereo system but given all the talk about whats involved with the Infinity system, I haven't done anything yet. Stereo systems aren't my forte.

my last truck had the infinity system and it wasnt an issue at all. granted it was a third gen but still. if the infinity system scares you, just bypass it. run new speaker wires and put in an aftermarket amp. it will sound a million times better.
That's exactly what I did. Bypass the entire infinity system and installed 2 front doors, two front tweets, two rear doors and two subs. One amp for subs and one for everything else. Pretty simple.
Agree with Danny above me I deleted the infinity in my truck and went all JL Audio with an aftermarket cd/mp3 player. Sounds 10 times better than stock especially with the 12" sub I installed under my backseat. Just the rich balance between treble, mids, and bass. Only mods that had to be done to install JL speakers was I had to cut out the tweeter grills in the a pillars and find the audio inputs from the infinity amps and hook up my speakers. Walla no more infinity system

Just replaced mine with Polk Audio and bypassed the infinity amps. Run my two ten inch subs through a 1000 watt amp and the door speakers through a 250 watt amp. Sound is great! Especially the Polk Audios.
