no dash lights or tail lights

some of my dash lights work like my seat belt and fuel light but none of my main gauge lights work and my tail lights are out. there is a 15 amp fuse under the hood that was blown replaced it and it blew again anyone have any suggestions of where the short might be or has anybody had this problem?

Mine did this but it was the aftermarket leds on the running boards doing it, and do you know does it blow right away when you turn lights on or does it blow kinda random like on bumps, corners, ect

my last one did this and it was the head light switch. searched everything trying to figure it out and one time i flicked on my lights and my switch made a weird noise (best way to describe it really) so i checked it out, replaced and had no issues after that.

98 2500 4x4 5 speed. exhaust and basic pump tweaks. ported head at the shop waiting to be put on...built motor coming soon.

I had this issue with the dash and tail lights. I had a short in my lic plate lighting in the rear. Does the fuse only blow when you turn on running lights and headlights?

Sounds like you have a short in the running lights then. I would start tracing wiring. There is a connector that I had to rewire this weekend right behind the drivers front wheel. I had 4 or 5 different wires that where corroded. I would start there.
