Towing Mirrors
Well, here is my first post! Im a big fan of the flip down towing mirrors. i found a cheap set off of a 04. I know the bases are different. i currently have the normal mirrors. so now here is my question. can i use my mounting bases and put the rest of the towing mirror on my base? will that work? let me know. or let me know where i can get a cheap set of towing mirrors! thanks

No, that will not work. A company called Kool-Vue is now making a set of power/heat tow mirrors(like the factory tows) that bolt on to the 2nd gen trucks. Check out these threads on the other boards...

you can get the mirrors from dodge for about 275. for both of them. just go to the dealer and ask for the mirror package and you get both and all hardware. alot of people dont know this and get scared when they sell you one for that.

Here is a pic of the Kool-Vue that are now available for a 2nd gen Dodge, power adj and heat, bolt on. The one's from Dodge are manual adj/no heat. About $170 each from car-stuff.com and autopartswarehouse.com(both are out of stock now)

I haven't done mine yet, hopefully the brown truck has them today or tommorrow. Read the threads listed above, should be pretty much a bolt on. I think the only real issue is the wiring on the older trucks. I got mine from autopartswarehouse. I signed up for their mailing list a week before I actually ordered them and got a 10% discount coupon code e-mailed to me.

The two websites have pulled the listing as they are sold out and waiting on Kool-vue, I know , my order showed up with just the driver side.
On back order for a week or ten days. They will be back on the website then per phone call with autopartswarehouse. Incidently, if you are going to buy them, try car-stuff.com, autopartswarehouse's customer service was pretty lame.Sam
