super good job, it looks like you could fit a winch behind there. What are you planning on putting in it for fogs??

I did a few killer ones on some Jeeps for myself, then various people wanted me to build them custom bumpers... I told them they couldnt afford me When in reality it is just too damn much work for me to make a measely dollar on. > My 2 cents
thanks man...and you got it right...it does take a good bit of time to build them. I probably had 20 hours or so into fab of this one, but through building the first one, I got ideas on how to make them easier.

yea...I'm hoping to have it worked out that implementing D-rings or a winch would be easy. I know there's plenty of room for a winch in there, just not sure if the bumper would stay on the frame when under the tension of a winch as it is right now

thanks...I looked up some different foglights online, and as it is, I have the holes for a 6-3/8 light and a 4" light. Was looking at Hella's for the 6-3/8 as there isnt a bunch of room between the hole and the radiator supports (~3.5"). So that light will need to be some sort of slim-fit light. There's lots of room behind the 4" holes, so I'm not completely sure what I'll be putting in there yet.

just as an update for everyone that's sent me PM's, I probably won't be on here for the next couple of days. We are in the last few days of school here and I am trying to study for my finals and finish some final essays for my classes.

(for those of you wondering how I am finishing classes at the end of september I am going to Kettering University for a Bachelor in mechanical engineering. We run a co-op program where I go to school for 11 weeks at a time, then work for 15 weeks, and then repeat it for the second half of the year.)

I'll be able to get files sent out for those of you that want the solidworks files sometime early next week hopefully.

I am also trying to come up with a better way to mount the bumper that will tie it into the frame of the truck better than how my "prototype" bumper is. I'll keep everyone updated as to how its going for me.

Hey good luck Greg. Deffinitly keep me in mind when you get back to school. Would love to have a nice beefy bumper like that with some tow hooks. Im just not a big fan of the huge honkin brush gaurds and ranch hand bumpers.

Man, I'm really impressed! I would need one with a reciever for a winch and some type of hooks. And some type of tubing to protect the grill and headlights. I wish I had the talent and tools for something like that.

Thats the first homeade bumper I've seen and liked. Its good to see you just didnt weld on some d-rings and a winch mount without taking the forces acted upon it into consideration. I'm over here still designing a tube bumper that will look good and be stout. Its a tough proposition with all the exposed componentry in the front.

That pre cut "kit" idea would be amazing! All you would have to do is cut up the metal and ship the pieces out, instead of a whole bumper!

I am really interested in either you making me one or having you pre cut me the pieces so I can weld them together. Can you shoot me a PM with some prices?

Just as an update for everyone...

I've been real busy this past week between work and helping pull a trans out for a bud and havent been able to go thru the PM's i got since last friday.

I might have found a place to get everything laser cut so I could possibly get some bumpers cut out and sent. I'll work on a price for those that have sent me PM's.
