go to the dealership and then have them look up your truck, and then ask for the fuel sending unit, and then tell them you want the predicessor, not the revised one, if the guy doesn't understand tel him its pre pumped,

i will look up the part number, as i have it in my paerwork somewhere.

Canntfly: if this is the [art number you have then let me know.

This is what i dug up.

Part number is 4897670AB

When asked it is the sending unit without the "fuel pump module" inside.

It should be about 500 bucks.

Please note that if you are running an aftermarket lift pump ie FASS Airdog, or one that has filters on it i would recommend cutting out the screen on the bottom of the unit, and also drilling the bottom suction hole. Doing so should reduce most of the pressure restrictions.

Mopar parts has the unit listed, but they are a dealer specifi part.

I know what your looking at its this page here

Dodge Ram 1500 Parts - The Official Mopar Parts eStore offered by Chrysler

Its under section 1, on that page, and its the last one, problem is they list the unit with the tank in it, but that is NOT what the picture is.

What you want is the shiny white fuel tank moduole on the left, it does not have the pump in it.

Apparently part number 4897670AB is the sending unit, which is the right part, but its not the module which you need.

Guys i found the recipt from the Dodge Dealer from October and it lists the number of

4897668-AF Module KIT 14067004

It says list is 522.50 net 475.

i called the dealership and they said that the parts kit, make sure you tell them that you went aftermarket frame rail mounted lift pump and that it REQUIRES the Oem pumpless sending unit. itherwise they will tell you you can only get the one with a pump in it which by the way is the same part number but has a different revision on the end, go figure.

I just got the sender in and it was just the sender for just over 80.00 CDN with taxes. The part number is 1-04897669AB and it is the right one for my truck but it was stated that it is for a 2000,01, 02 and mine is a 99.

Thank you for the part number. I'm struggling to picture what "just the sender" looks like. You didn't happen to take a photo before your install, did you?

Where is it in this photo?
