Sorry, I meant the steering column shaft under the hood that goes to the steering gear box. Have someone wiggle the wheel and look if there is any play there.
Another way to solve this steering wander problem is to drive an old Ford truck for a while then you will be used to the sloppy steering. Just joking, but seriously.

so first prolly check the steering shaft for play(replace if play is seen), then try to adjust the box if the box is loose, try a steering stabalizer? i just can not believe how bad it is, it i think is worse now than it was with all the balljoints SHOT. im like a drunkin sailor its horrible back and forth little bump here little bump there, few! just keep it between the lines! i guess ill start there, any other thougths?

Put a bd trackbar kit on mine yesterday & the improvement was night & day. My $.02
