With this poping and cracking sound coming from mine i'm pretty sure it is coming from the steering box so i was wondering if you guys knew if the 1 ton steering box is more heavier duty than the half ton steering box and if so could i put one on mine.

where do you get a steering wheel puller and the part that needs to be replaced... mine is getting louder and louder

Done that already haha...

I have to replace everything. But the popping noise is inside the cab in the column.

I use to have something similar to what your describing.. the intermediate steering shaft was replaced, and away it went.. I was physically able to feel it in my fingers as I turned the steering wheel, and maybe just a subtle 'click' noise (a rusted knuckle)...I dont know if thats along the lines of what you're experiencing or not.

Ya I mean I can not only feel it... I can hear it.... A loud popping noise inside the steering column... feels like there is a rock in there

I just got this part, but, I have not installed it yet. I hope it makes a difference. However, my truck drives pretty well, though. Will update when I get it installed.
