I was driving down the road today noticed the oil pressure gauge sitting at 40PSI regardless or RPM.

Checked codes sure enough P0522. I'm tempted to change the oil press. sender.

Does you oil pressure gauge do the same thing (not move from 40psi)?

Hmm maybe you just had an intermittent thing going on with the oil press sender....

It appears that if the oil press sender dies the gauge usually goes to the 40 psi mark (right in the middle).

I'd going to change that oil pressure sender on mine and see what happans. But at the moment the APPS issues I have are a first priority.

OK put a new oil pressure sender in. The oil pressure gauge works correctly now, and I'm assuming the code will go away shortly.

The oil pressure sender is Cummins part # 4921511, got it from Cummins West in San Leandro, list price is $88.00. I get a 10% discount there, so that makes up for the darn sales tax.

Since your problem came and went, and your pressure gauge works correctly now, who knows it may have been a bad connection in the wiring, or maybe your oil pressure sensor is intermittent.

If you do see the pressure gauge stuck at 40 (right in the middle) for a long time check your codes again.
