Best Rebuilder for Steering Boxes

Have an '01 4x4 and the steering gear leaks bad and the sector shaft wobbles all over. (what else is new?) So, I've heard about a few rebuilders that offer modifications to the boxes they rebuild that eliminate the wear problem.

Who are the best folks to go to for a steering box rebuild and who has everyone had the best luck with?

Thanks!

I think PSC use to offer a new box, but I dont think they sell it anymore. I would contact them to see if they still rebuild boxes.

A DSS steering stablizer helps a lot with it not wearing out so fast. Then I was reading about the Chevy Suburban steering boxes bolt right in there. Supposed to be a better steering box. It was a thread on North West Bombers board.

I had my performance shop install a Dodge OEM unit. No more steering play. Yay! The Dodge unit is well built actually. But definitely get a DSS. It helps reduce wandering.

If your steering box is tight and only the sector shaft is loose, you can change the lower bearing and the seal kit.

I just did this on my 2001 Ram 2500 CTD and no more steering woble and leak. Of course a steering brace is the next step.

I just swapped mine with an AGR Super Box 2. It's a bolt on exact replacement and is a lot beefier and the steering is firmer then the mopar box. Very happy with it.
