Tired of my yellow sport lamps! tinted and cleared mine

i love my truck but like some americans i havent worked in a long time and i dont see myself working again anytime soon so funds to have fun with my truck are low. ive wanted new headlights for a long time but at about $300 for a pair thats gunna have to wait. so i had an idea i wanted to tint them a lil and clear coat them and see what happens.....

heres everything i used

heres what i started with

while i was at it i amberd tinted and cleared my corner lights as well

and tada!

oh ya i painted my mud flaps, step bars, removed my badges and the dodge 4x4, and tinted the 3rd break light and taillights. added the single 5" stack about a month ago as well. the wheels are gunna get powder coated as soon as ive got a spare couple bucks as well black and white all the way (storm trooper)

i dont think they are gunna hurt how much light they put out at night hell they were so yellow before it cant be any worse. let me know what ya think love of hate tell me i dont mind.

i used an sos pad it put a slight haze on the parts then cleaned them good and started paintin. i drove around tonight with them and they are no worse they seem to put out more even light but its almost like ive got a cheap set of blue headlight bulbs but the foglights make up for them. i like them i dont regret it if your cheap like me and want clearer headlights u might try not tinting them and just using some clear coat i bet that will make them look better as well.

i thought about doing that on mine, mine's all blacked out with polished 3g wheels and nerf bars and bed caps...that would look slick. I thought about it just didnt know how it would turn out.....

how many coats of the night shades did you use???

How is the light output at night? (I drive a bit at night)

i put 3 coates on them i kinda wish i would have done 2 coates but i have foglights that can make up for them having a lil light blocked. no worse than the yellow ones and they put out more even light it seems. it helps also that my drivers side headlight was pooped out of it adjusters so it always sagged and shook while driving it site level now thank got it botherd the out of me. bought me a roll pan today to get rid of that ugly bumper thats beat to hell.

so far all my buddies like them they want me to do there corner lights the same i always wanted smaoked headlights but all the aftermarket ones seem cheezy to me.... to each his own but when i see a truck with euro lights front and rear and every thing u can fit on it out of a jc whitney catalog it loses its elegance.if i had it my way it would be matte blacked as well like a dam stealth bomber.
