the 00-02 manual 2500's came w/ the "hybrid" D 80 rear, as did all 3500's, the 00-02 autos came w/ the D70 rear, and, pre-2000, all 2500's had the D70...

I might change brake pads by 200K miles...

Exhaust brakes are really handy!
Odometer - 118K when I did the brake job, the fronts were overdue for a brake job by about 2K as they started squealing like a pig. I continued to drive since I knew I was replacing the rotors anyways. The rears still have lots of pad left. The truck had 315/75 rubber when I got it at 56K and I swapped the mud tires for 315/75R17 BFG AT on H2s. So, it the odometer is about 9% off I believe since about 50K. Based on the tread left on the tires when I bought it I would guess it had the larger tires on since about 50K, so equivalent to 125K or so on 1 set of pads. Not bad! I do not have an exhaust brake like you, but I am easy on my truck.

ya when it comes to towing exhaust breaks are great because on down grades you rarely have to touch them. My buddy always brags about this so i know all about it.....

A lot of the pre 2000 2500 manuals also came w/the Dana 80.

Gosh dam I have looked all over for a diesel parts store online who stocks the 3rd gen brackets, which one did you buy them from for $37.00. Where can I get these?

Would a pair of 3rd gen calipers work on this swap? would it be worth it?

Thanks!
Ian

3rd gen calipers are the same as the 01-02 calipers.
